Railway Modelling Experts (RME) is a group of Model Railway Enthusiasts with experience building layouts and particular expertise in electronics and digital control.

We can provide any or all of the following services.

Burnden Park

This is a superb 4mm scale layout, where we had the pleasure to update the wiring and control system for DCC operation, including a custom circuit board to provide route selection for the fiddle yard. We also reprogrammed the DCC decoders in the fleet of locos for better operation.

my DCC system of operation. The new system has now been in operation for all

RME have assisted me with my model railway layout over the last few years. They originally helped with the build of my revised layout when I moved to this area by laying track and especially with the wiring and electronics required to move from a dc layout using a physical control panel to operation of points and signals to a computer based system.

Since then i have had a change in my lifestyle which has required another location for my layout so they assisted with the subsequent dismantling of the layout into the 14 base boards it requires. During this period we/they tested using dcc instead of dc and have convinced me to change to dcc operation. At the moment they have assisted me and advised me on how the original wiring needed to modified for dcc operation.
